The seasonal and part-time employees, a total of 222, work primarily in Parliament's food services branch, and in Parliament's Hansard reporting service as editors, proofreaders, publishers and related occupations.

More than 200 House of Commons employees who work either seasonally or part-time will lose five weeks of salary this year because of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's decision to suspend Parliament until March 3, House of Commons and union staffing figures show.
