House Speaker Peter Milliken will be the longest-serving Speaker in Canadian history on Oct. 12. Mr. Milliken, 62, is the 34th Speaker and he's had the job since Jan. 29, 2001. The longest-serving Speaker before this was Lucien Lamoreux, who served from 1963 to 1974.
