Time to revisit federal budget planning processes

However long it takes, all sides in this debate would probably agree that regaining budgetary balance is going to be a tough row to hoe.

KINGSTON—In its January budget, the government forecast a return to surplus in 2013-14, a prediction that was received with skepticism in many quarters and one that continues to be challenged. Criticism notwithstanding, the government continues to stand by that forecast.
