A significant anniversary passed recently with few Canadians seeming to notice. It was exactly 25 years ago, Feb. 29, 1984 to be exact, that Pierre Elliott Trudeau, fresh from his walk in the Ottawa snow the night before, announced he'd be retiring from political life.
