The coalition is dead, and the idea takes root

Now that the seed of the coalition idea has been planted in public consciousness, it is likely only a matter of time until it takes root and possibly sprouts.

TORONTO—The idea of a coalition government is foreign to most Canadians. That is not surprising. Ottawa has never had a coalition government. Some cite the wartime government of Robert Borden which, led by Conservatives, included some pro-conscription Liberals at the Cabinet table.
