Cost to renovate to 24 Sussex to exceed $9.7-million, McTeer says to tear it down

Auditor General Sheila Fraser says the longer the repairs are delayed the more expensive it will become to restore it.

The cost of planned renovations to the Prime Minister's official residence, 24 Sussex Dr., will exceed the original estimate of $9.7-million because it was based on 2006 estimates, according to the head of the National Capital Commission.
