Politicians, media prefer to talk trivialities than Afghan war
Who wants to talk about Afghanistan? Not the 197 MPs who voted to extend the $8-billion misadventure. Not the man in the sweater. Not the opposition leader who agreed to keep troops in the desert until 2011.
The war is lost. It's lost in the editorial pages of the most conservative newspaper in the most conservative city in the country, the Calgary Sun: "Are we winning? Can we win? What would a win look like?"
