Dion should have declared a moratorium on election speculation
If politics is a horse race, the federal Liberal jockey has saddled Stéphane Dion's team with a record in Parliament so deeply marked by indecision and contradictions that winning the race may be impossible.
"Stephen, if you're listening, we are counting the days until the next election." And with those words spoken on that fateful evening of Dec. 2, 2006, Stéphane Dion closed his party's convention and claimed the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.
