Senate bill to legislate ‘national selection’ for PS jobs

Public Service Commission president Maria Barrados says 'My worry is in making the requirements greater for the national area of selection, we will in fact push the system to go to casual employment.'

Bill S-219, an act to amend the Public Service Employment Act, will be counterproductive and fail to legislate or provide discretion in how it is applied, says public administration expert Peter Aucoin.
