Liberals to pay off Quebec wing’s $1.9-million debt
Sources say the party decided to bite the bullet and pay off the massive debt because the Quebec wing wasn't strong enough to do it on its own.
In an effort to ensure that the Liberal Party is debt free by the time it elects a new leader in early December, the national executive has agreed to pay off the party's $1.9-million debt of the Quebec wing of the federal Liberal Party, say top Liberal sources.
