Both the leader of the Government in the Senate Sharon Carstairs and her deputy Fernand Robichaud offered to resign their top posts in the Upper Chamber on Nov. 7 after the governing Liberals lost a key vote in the Senate on outgoing Prime Minister Jean Chretien's ethics package.
