Paul Martin's private fundraisers started on the evening of Aug. 29, 2002, in the North Toronto home of lawyer Felicia Salomon, who hosted some 85 to 90 people who paid $1,000 each to have a cocktail and crudites with the man they hope will be Canada's next Prime Minister.
