Honour is due: on Meech Lake, Mulroney devoted enormous political capital for the cause of national unity

The ultimate failure of Meech Lake was and is a tragedy, the consequences of which remain with us to this day. It is for others, not Mulroney, to answer for this, writes Michael Kaczorowski.

In June 1987, Mulroney led an all-night negotiation session at the Langevin Block, where he shuttled back and forth, meeting with provincial premiers in groups or individually, to finalize the Meech Lake Accord.
