Syria: the rehabilitation of Assad

The very least the Arab League can do is make a deal with Assad that protects those refugees from victimization when they are forcibly sent home. Whether it will even try to extract that commitment as its price for letting Assad rejoin the Arab League remains to be seen, but we will find out more when the organization’s summit opens on Thursday.
