In her budget speech on March 28, 2023, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said, 'Canada must either meet this historic moment—this remarkable opportunity before us—or we will be left behind as the world's democracies build the clean economy of the 21st century.'

Globally, we are seeing a rapid transition to a decarbonized, sustainable economy, as evidenced by the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act in the United States, and the Green Deal Industrial Plan in the European Union.
