OTTAWA—It’s been a year now since my neighbourhood was swallowed whole. Swallowed by a loud, angry, snarling beast. Swallowed by a cacophony of fireworks, honking, shouting, and diesel fumes—the likes of which may scar downtown Ottawa forever.
