The fifth International Marine Protected Areas Conference in Vancouver is the chance to chart a course towards a world where we are not just neighbours, but also caretakers of our ocean ecosystems.
Fisheries and Oceans Minister Joyce Murray is among those gathered for IMPAC5 this week. Strongly protected and effectively managed marine protected areas have positive outcomes not only for marine life, but also for the health and livelihoods of coastal communities, writes Jennifer Josenhans.
