Canada can’t afford to ‘miss the boat’ on blockchain industry, says Bloc MP Lemire

Comparing the emerging blockchain industry to the advent of the internet in the 1990s, MPs on the House Industry and Technology Committee say the government should avoid partisan attacks on crypto and instead prepare Canada for the economy of the future.
The Liberal talking points on bitcoin may be useful political fodder against the Conservatives, but they're also dissuading investment in 'one of the fastest-growing industries in the world,' says Tory MP Ryan Williams.

The use of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin has become a well-worn Liberal attack line against Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, but members of a House committee studying the technology say there are opportunities that Canada is missing out on amid the political fracas.
