Despite the recent U.S. military leadership statements to the contrary, winter is the best time for war-fighting in Ukraine and Russia. It isn't the 18th century anymore.
U.S. Gen. Mark Milley has noted that the approach of winter could provide 'a window' for a political solution in the war, writes Gwynne Dyer, as pushing Russia out of Ukraine completely would be 'a very difficult task.'
