Canada needs to transition to a net-zero economy, now

Transitioning to a net-zero economy will be highly disruptive, difficult, and costly, and we should have no illusions about that. The choice we face is whether we face this realistically and intelligently, or whether we continue to behave more like ostriches and suffer the consequences.

Rather than clinging to the fantasy that we can have our cake and eat it too—that we can have a strong oil and gas industry and achieve net zero emissions economy—it is time to wake up as a country and acknowledge that without much stronger action, we face a dire future, writes David Crane.
