Spare the child, hit the rod

It is shocking to learn that, in law, children can still be abused with corporal punishment as a means of discipline. Despite the science, the repeated calls, and many efforts to repeal the archaic Sec. 43 of the Criminal Code of Canada, the law remains.
Justice Minister David Lametti is the minister responsible for any changes to the Criminal Code, and George Zimmerman says the federal government should finally repeal the archaic law, Sec. 43 of the Criminal Code, 'to teach effective positive discipline of children, and pass this test of morality.'
