Long-term care can no longer be an afterthought

It is unacceptable that it took the death of nearly 16,000 LTC residents to make long term care a priority.
Hundreds of members of the Canadian Armed Forces were called in to help out in at least two dozen Ontario and Quebec long-term care homes in April and May, 2020, hit hard by COVID-19, including this one pictured. There were reported allegations of elder abuse and neglect in at least five long-term care homes in Ontario.
