Our politics in Canada has suddenly contracted rabies

It is exactly what is happening in Republican circles in the United States, where politicians like Kevin McCarthy, Ted Cruz, and Elise Stefanik, as well as TV hosts like Tucker Carlson, continue to push an alternate universe in which mandating masks is the worst assault on U.S. constitutional freedom on record. An attempt to save lives is equal to a Nazi act.
