The future of Canada’s diplomacy is gender parity

At GAC we have made significant strides in achieving gender parity, but we still have a way to go in diversifying the foreign service so that it is truly reflective of Canada’s population.
In 2019, Global Affairs Canada appointed Marta Morgan, left, as the first female deputy minister of foreign affairs. Other accomplished role models who work at GAC today include Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman, Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ayesha Rekhi, and the Emi Furuya, director, Europe Bilateral Relations, Advocacy, for EU Trade.
