For Inuit, the key to better mental health is our culture

It is important for new ministers, and all Members of Parliament to understand the integrated nature of addressing this Inuit health crisis. It is not solely the jurisdiction of one or two departments, such as Northern Affairs or Indigenous Services.
The ICC held a 'Virtual Knowledge Exchange' for Arctic suicide prevention workers early in 2021. The organization created a safe space for participants to build on the work already happening in their communities.
The Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) is currently holding a health summit with participants from Canada, Alaska, Greenland, and Chukotka (Russia).
