Government contempt for transparency undermines reconciliation

The federal government's access to information system is crumbling, and it is jeopardizing important national projects.
Information Commissioner Caroline Maynard warned in February that access to information is a 'quasi-constitutional right' that could not be suspended because of the pandemic, but an investigation by The Ottawa Citizen found that the federal government had often made access requests a low priority.
