Famine in the 21st century: 41 million people are at risk of starving to death in 2021

The UN has recognized the link between conflict and hunger with the threat of sanctions for any armed parties who use starvation as a tactic of war and who refuse safe passage to humanitarian actors. Canada must actively pursue the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers in conflict contexts, and support efforts for peace in conflict-affect countries.
