So far, the fight against COVID-19 has not recognized the danger of the threat every country on Earth is facing

In the U.S., in particular, it has been a case of the honour system run amok. Just provide people with the information and the vaccine and they will take the needle. Except that they haven’t. And they won’t, unless authorities change their approach. And not by offering free beer, or lottery purses.

U.S. President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Marcron, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. No leader in the Western World, including Mr. Trudeau, has insisted people be vaccinated. They recognize that the world now faces a pandemic of the unvaccinated—and rag the puck rather than act. They argue they must seek a balance between security and freedom. Mr. Macron has talked about a 'summer of mobilization' against the pandemic.
