Feds should take steps to create national food program for schools

Providing meals, nutrition education, and food skills training that instil healthy eating habits for the next generation has the potential to reduce ballooning health-care costs.
Canada is the only G7 country without a national school-food program. It is time for that to change. 
Hearing the first reading of C-201, a private member’s bill from NDP MP Don Davies that calls for the development of a national school-food program, was an exciting day for parents and advocates across the country.
