Much is made of the lack of Liberal MPs west of Ontario. This is media shorthand, reflecting the usual southern Canadian snow blindness to developments in the high North. The Liberals have in fact two strong and experienced MPs in the North, one in the Yukon, Larry Bagnell, and one in the Northwest Territories, Michael McLeod.
