How feds can help green-bond market flourish to meet Paris climate targets

Developing a well-functioning green-bond market in Canada would open up the potential to finance large-scale renewable energy investments, writes the CEO of the Investment Industry Association of Canada.
The House Finance Committee, chaired by Liberal MP Wayne Easter, pictured, earlier this year put a call out for stakeholders to submit policy ideas on how to help Canada transition to a low-carbon economy.
In mid-June, the House Finance Committee put out its annual call for input on the federal budget. This year, it proffered a more focused lens by requesting submissions on a single policy objective centred on the transition to a low-carbon economy.
