Château counter-attack: a defence mobilizes

As Yogi Berra once famously said, 'It ain't over till it's over,' and the latest episode in the now three-year epic drama featuring Ottawa's beloved Château Laurier Hotel may soon see the City of Ottawa in court.
Heritage Ottawa announced recently that it has retained Michael Polowin of Gowling WLG and co-council Marc Denhez, to act on its behalf. Heritage Ottawa states that it 'is committed to preventing a design which denigrates rather than enhances the Château Laurier, and its unique symbolic place in the magnificent Canadian landscape,' and 'to prevent the desecration of the most iconic building in Ottawa, next to the Parliament Buildings.'
