Political parties blocking freedom of expression and thoughtful public discourse

Rather than allow backbench MPs or future candidates to express ideas that poll one standard deviation off the mean, the political parties are crushing anyone with an original thought.
We now have the Conservative Party of Canada, led by Andrew Scheer, blocking a candidate in southern Ontario from running under the CPC banner. Why?
