Bill C-84 is an important first step

Bill C-84, currently being studied by the Justice and Human Rights Committee, would amend the Criminal Code to ensure that the bestiality offence captures all contact with an animal for a sexual purpose. There is certainly much more to do in this area, but the passage of Bill C-84 is an important first step.
Justice Minister David Lametti is the minister responsible for Bill C-84, an Act to Amend the Criminal Code (bestiality and animal fighting. The bill has received second reading and is before the House Justice Committee.
