Public safety is no accident
Bill C-69 would essentially move the approval for pipelines and nuclear facilities from independent, expert regulators to a new Impact Assessment Agency that reports to the environment minister—like having that minister regulate air safety. It makes no sense.

The next time you fly, consider two things: the greenhouse gas emissions created by air travel and whether you will land safely. Then think about who should be the primary regulator of air travel—is it the minister of the environment or transport?
