Disaster relief, rising demand will squeeze charities in 2019

For decision makers in the corporate investment community, the guiding maxims for 2019 should be to expect the unexpected and build in budget allowances for disaster relief.
Given that climate change will escalate the frequency and ferocity of natural disasters in 2019 and beyond, forward planning is needed now to ensure charities reliant on corporate support don’t lose out, writes Bruce MacDonald of Imagine Canada.
We are fortunate to live in a nation where people and corporations are so generous. Community investment, helping the less fortunate and inclusion are internationally recognized hallmarks of Canadian life, and these characteristics must be nurtured.
