Carleton students appeal to Ottawa for release of Saudi women’s rights activist

Dr. Hatoon al-Fassi, a prominent women's rights activist in Saudi Arabia, was arrested a week after she and other women demonstrated for women's right to drive.
A group of Carleton University students is calling on the Trudeau government to intervene and call for Dr. Hatoon al-Fassi's release. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland received pushback from the Saudi government after she called out the regime's detention of another Saudi activist, Raif Badawi.
