First Nations: actions would speak louder than words

Quebec has made commitments and is doing its part. However, the Crown has not yet honoured its commitments. Let’s hope that the prime minister’s speech will lead to action and that the gap between the living conditions in Indigenous communities and non-Indigenous communities will grow smaller.

Auditor General Michael Ferguson recently released a scathing report that showed the government has no understanding of the actual conditions on reserves and, as a result, the funding being granted does not match the real needs.
