Paul Dewar’s Feb. 17 Facebook post, delivers message of strength after brain cancer diagnosis

Former NDP MP Paul Dewar, pictured Dec. 5, 2016, at a protest organized by the Ottawa Committee for Nuclear Disarmament on Parliament Hill that called on the Trudeau government to vote in favour of nuclear disarmament negotiations at the UN. Mr. Dewar found out earlier this month that he had brain cancer and had a tumour removed from his brain on Feb. 14. 'While this cancer is devastating news, I am going to pursue the next phase of my treatment with determination, passion, and an appreciation for life.'
