With Ratko Mladic’s conviction, justice for Bosnia

The former military commander of the Bosnian Serbs was sentenced to life in prison today for war crimes. The verdict should motivate early Canadian advocates of the Bosnian Serbs’ cause to reconsider their positions.
Ratko Mladic, former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army, was sentenced to life in prison on Nov. 22 for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed by units under his command during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the early 1990s. He is pictured in 2016.
