The real benefits of diversity are what helped define North America during the last century: the willingness to challenge conventional wisdom, to break down barriers, to provide real opportunities for one’s personal success, and to build a society where people are judged not by where they came from but by what they can contribute to the fabric of a nation.
It used to be that North America was synonymous with innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. We were young countries willing to take risks, break down class and social barriers and challenge old myths in the hope of building something better.
