New Public Service Commission president should take ‘bolder’ approach to bilingualism

It may be time for the public service to make bilingualism a requirement for all entry-level positions and promotions in regions designated as bilingual for language-of-work purposes.
Patrick Borbey, the new president of the Public Service Commission of Canada, says that a lack of bilingualism should not be considered a barrier for a career in the public service, and that there are ample opportunities for public servants to be trained in a second official language.
