Canada has little incentive to agree to a new NAFTA loaded with concessions that will cripple its economy.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has blamed the existing NAFTA trade deal for killing hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs. Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, who is overseeing the NAFTA renegotiation for her government, has said Canada was committed to working towards 'a good deal, not just any deal.'
