Canada's opposition to the nuclear weapons ban treaty has degraded its reputation on disarmament, at home and abroad.
The United Nations Conference to Negotiate a Legally Binding Instrument to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons overwhelmingly adopted a treaty to do just that on July 7, though Canada and the remaining members of NATO either boycotted or voted against the treaty.
