Changing our national anthem strikes discord with Canadians

Changing the words is a token of placation, and it’s a slippery slope. It will inevitably inspire other demands for further change. We would be tossing away an important piece of our history and tradition all in the name of political correctness, writes Senator David Wells.

The bill, currently being debated in the Senate, would have Parliament change the lyrics of the national anthem, replacing 'in all thy sons command' with 'in all of us command.'
