Growing tension between rich and poor has become powerful force in modern-day politics

Each side has vastly different priorities.
The rich, who by definition are economically content, like to focus on issues such as climate change, the bathroom rights of transgendered people and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s yoga techniques. The non-rich, on the other hand, who tend to be economically anxious, have more basic concerns, i.e. will they be able to pay next month’s mortgage.
