Physician-assisted death law needs ‘clear definitions’

The special joint committee on Physician-Assisted Death is currently hearing testimony from a wide range of stakeholders and are due to report legislative suggestions to the judicial committees of the House of Commons and Senate on Feb. 26.
Catherine Clark, Canadian Nurses Association CEO Anne Sutherland Boal, Canadian Medical Association vice-president Dr. Jeff Blackmer, and Maureen McTeer, a lawyer who specializes in health policy and medical law, spoke about physician-assisted death at a Hill Times Events panel Tuesday.
