Unelected senators tried to ‘hijack’ Reform Bill: Chong
A Conservative amendment that would have killed the private member’s bill was voted down in the Senate Monday.
PARLIAMENT HILL – Conservative MP Michael Chong says unelected Conservative senators tried to hijack the democratic vote of MPs with an amendment that would have effectively killed his private member’s bill giving MPs greater independence from party leaders.
