Duffy trial may not conclude until November

Suspended Senator Mike Duffy's trial for fraud, breach of trust and bribery started on April 7 and is scheduled to adjourn at the end of next week. It will resume June 1 until June 16, but court has already indicated the trial will not end on that date. All sides are discussing when and how to extend the sittings.

Suspended Senator Mike Duffy’s trial might not conclude until September or possibly even November, which would almost guarantee no verdict until after the scheduled Oct. 19 federal general election, statements by lawyers from both sides indicate.
