Gerald Donohue not a Maple Ridge Media owner, but signed thousands of dollars of cheques from family firm, Duffy trial hears

The son of Gerald Donohue—a long-time friend of Sen. Duffy’s who up to now was believed to be the owner and head of Maple Ridge Media Inc., which received nearly $65,000 from Sen. Duffy’s office for research and consulting services—told court that his father was not an owner or executive officer of the firm at the time, or a shareholder, and, to the son’s knowledge, did not have signing authority for cheques.
